Worbla's Trans Art Thermoplast
WTA0005Worbla’s ® Transpa Art (WTA) – the transparent, heat-malleable sheet from the Worbla’s ® Art series .
This material is incredibly flexible, yet extremely dimensionally stable and can be easily deep-drawn. Furthermore, like all products in the Worbla’s® Art series, WTA is classified as safe for health and is solvent-free in its manufacture and processing. Worbla’s® Transpa Art is best activated at approximately 120°C, which is why we strongly recommend wearing work gloves for heat and burn protection!
WTA needs about 10 minutes to harden sufficiently and become dimensionally stable. However, it can be reactivated at any time. This makes it ideal for gradual shaping and correction. We recommend using a small damp sponge, an old toothbrush, or other modeling tools for this.
Worbla's® Transpa Art can also be worked directly into stable, simple shapes, even kneaded in as a mass if needed. When kneaded, it becomes slightly milky. This allows for the creation of fantastic decorative elements illuminated with LEDs.
To "color" Worbla's® Transpa Art , it can be colored directly with iDyePoly® before molding and covered with a heat-elastic adhesive film from the automotive tuning sector, or colored afterward with spray paint or glass paint. There are simply so many ways to make WTA beautifully colorful!
Excess material is best removed with a cutter after the area has been reheated. Rough areas on the surface can be treated with clear varnish. Individual parts can be joined with transparent superglue without leaving visible traces. Alternatively, a soldering iron, eyelets, or rivets can be used.
Free from potentially harmful substances such as solvents
Can be reactivated as often as desired (best at approx. 120°C)
Processing time up to several minutes, depending on the exposure time to the activation heat.
Simple, safe and clean handling, even for beginners (don't forget protective gloves!)
Extremely flexible yet dimensionally stable and deep-drawable
Individual parts can be joined using suitable adhesives, rivets and soldering irons.
Can be dyed directly or colored afterwards.
No unusable residues and storage is possible for years under normal conditions.
